Home Made French Knitter

by Stacey
(Thunder Bay, On, Canada)

If you can't find a commercial French Knitter at a store, you most likely have the materials at home to make one of your own.

Materials:

- one wooden thread spool, preferably empty.

- four (4) small nails

- small crochet hook

- hammer

- marker, pen or pencil

1. Mark off the four points of North, South, East and West on one end of the spool.

2. Using a hammer, simply pound one nail in each
point. Make sure your nails are small, or they will split the wood of the spool and you'll have to start all over again.

Voila, you have a french knitter. It's sturdy enough to give you good tension, and the tips
of the nails will prevent your yarn from slipping
off.
