The stk. stitch will always curl up. It's probably too late now, but if you knit the first and last few stitches in each row it won't curl up so bad.

Stockinett Stitch by: Kathy
You may want to purl the first and last 6 stitches on knit rows and knit the first and last 6 stitches on the purl rows. This will keep the edges of a piece of stockinette stitched knitting from curling. Fewer than 6 stitches on each side may not do much, but you can
Try less and you can always do more.
Also, just about every knit or crochet piece needs to be "blocked" when finished. Wet the piece, squeeze out the excess water, (do not wring)and lay the piece on a flat surface that you can tack it to. I use a plastic cloth cutting board that I covered with batting and a net material. Pin the piece in the shape you want and let dry. Any place that has sewing stuff will have T pins or the long pins with the ball on the end for holding your piece in place.

Don't quote me... :P by: Beryl
Don't quote me on this, but I've read that you can spray it with water and "tack" it or "tape" it flat (e.g. to a corkboard with thumbtacks???) and let it dry. I hope that works... I only know because I was poking around the Internet for answers for myself. XD
