How do you add multiple stitches at end of row to start sleeves ?

Am knitting a baby sweater and pattern calls for adding 6 additional stitches at the beginning of 2 rows to start the sleeves. It seems to be a garment knit in one piece. How would I add those because it's not like regular increase of stitches.
