Learn How to Weave In Ends

If you learn how to weave in ends properly, then this will ensure that your finished garment looks high quality rather than homemade.

First, thread the yarn end through a darning needle.

Then, using the needle, weave the yarn end in and out of the knitted fabric. If there is one, do the weaving on the wrong side to help hide the end.

It does not really matter which direction you choose to go in - that is more down to personal preference. However, make sure that the needle only goes through the gaps between the stitches and does not split the yarn.

My advice is to ensure that your weaving follows the same direction and pattern as the stitches. This makes it easier to hide the end and is sometimes referred to as "duplicate stitching".

If you have been knitting in stockinette, then the loops of the purl stitch hide the yarn well.

Finally, when you are satisfied that the yarn end will not unravel and is sufficiently hidden, cut off the end with a pair of scissors.

One final tip is that knots are a no-no! They have a nasty habit of popping through to the right side of the work so best not risk this.
